POLICY

The most important starting point for an EMS* is the development of an environmental policy. ISO14001 requires local governments to implement their own environmental policy. The environmental policy acts as a basis for the environmental management system.

The Comprehensive Environmental Training and Education Program coordinates and provides environmental training for MCAS Miramar tenants.  Courses currently include:

  • Hazardous Waste Coordinator Course (now incorporating the 8056 curricula)  3 days
  • Environmental Compliance Coordinator Training 1 day
  • HM/HW Officer MOS 8056 Course (part of HWC Course)
  • Hazardous Waste Annual Refresher Training- currently online via MarineNet or ECASS.

See attached FY24 Schedule for course dates and locations.  Primary location is S-1 classroom in B-6008, but may change due to scheduling.  Verification will be sent to students prior to course.
